One of these is stainless steel 347 seamless pipe, stabilised by adding columbium. Incorporating columbium into ASTM A312 Gr TP347 is ideally suited for applications that must operate at high temperatures and are susceptible to oxidation. ASTM A312 TP347 can be made using electric resistance welds and fusion welds, or it can be seamless. The sizes available for this product range from half an inch to twenty-four inches, and it can be welded using either method.

SA 312 TP 347 are available in sizes ranging from 6 inches to 100 inches, and they are produced by an industrial process called electric fusion. Even when subjected to higher temperatures, they maintain a sufficient creep strength. Most applications for pipe made of stainless steel type 347 include maritime surroundings, marine architecture and equipment, and laboratory furniture. Because they are produced using an electric resistance welding process, SS 347 ERW pipes are suitable for applications requiring a significant amount of welding. They are provided to customers in the conditions of annealing, bright annealing, pickling, cold drawing, and polishing. The welded SS 347 pipe comes in various thicknesses, all governed by their respective schedules.

Exhaust manifolds, aircraft collection rings, expansion joints, and high-temperature chemical processing equipment are some of the places you’ll find them employed. Another type of corrosion that SS 347 seamless pipe may withstand is intergranular corrosion. The incorporation of columbium has been shown to inhibit the formation of chromium carbide precipitation—pipes made of 347 stainless steel that has not been welded using oxyacetylene.
